Hotel ZAR Los Mochis

A clean place to rest while passing through, with WiFi, secure parking, and friendly service. The location works well for a stop, but late at night there’s nowhere very close to get a good meal.

Breakfast is included and was great, and the WiFi works. The place feels clean and safe, with a man watching the parking lot and greeting people as they arrive. Sound carries, though, since the building isn’t soundproof.

The bathroom could use some work, which is why I can’t give it five stars. Apart from that, I have little to complain about. Check-in was warm and welcoming, and the front desk service was superb. The room was large and very quiet despite being near the highway and a truck stop. The shower was hot, the mattress comfortable, and the pillows nice and fluffy. WiFi was a bit unreliable at times, but fast when it did work. There’s free drinking water in the hallway to refill your complimentary bottle, and plenty of parking. If I’m in the area again, I’ll definitely stop for a night.

Keep driving and you’ll be glad you skipped this place. My room had no hot water, the Wi-Fi didn’t work, and there were no hand towels or washcloths. There wasn’t a phone either. The road is in such bad shape it could wreck your car, and the hotel is right beside a noisy truck stop. Avoid it.
