The snorkeling was fantastic. A barrier keeps Sargassam and seaweed from washing onto the beach, and beyond it there's a natural reef with plenty of fish and other aquatic life in just one to two meters of water. You can also arrange an inexpensive snorkelling trip to another reef, about 300 to 400 meters offshore down the beach. We did that too, and it was a fantastic experience. Blue kay is a beautiful eco-friendly resort. We gave it five stars because it was what we expected. It's not a luxury hotel, but it was perfect for our vacation. Thank you so much, Blue Kay, for a great experience.

We came upon this place during an excursion from our MSC cruise. The food was good, the beer was cold, and the water was amazing. If you're on an MSC cruise stopping in Costa Maya, consider Roger's "Buggy Ride" excursion. It was well worth the price.

We came here on a cruise to Costa Maya. The food was absolutely amazing, and I'd recommend this place to anyone stopping here on a cruise. We rode dune buggies too. It's a 10/10 for a fun trip, or if you just want to fly out and stay for the weekend.

The food carts are great, and they take USD, so bring cash. There are vendors walking along the sand selling things, and the pool water was salty and extremely cloudy.

I only came here for a boat trip to snorkel on the barrier reef through the dive shop, and really enjoyed it. I didn't stay at the hotel. Lunch was fish tacos on the beach, which were mediocre. The view was excellent, though the service was poor.
