Hotel Inkanto

The staff were accommodating and friendly, and I did have a nice stay. The rooms were clean, the beds and pillows comfortable, the shower pressure very good, and the location convenient and as quiet as a tourist zone can be. There’s a great balcony, and limited secure parking under the hotel. I used earplugs and left the windows open to get some air in, though the sewer smell never fully went away even after staff tried to fix it. Rooms 301 and 201, which we booked, had a terrible sewer odor that built up overnight and gave me a headache. The first day it was so intense that I fled the room to sit outside. It was thick, heavy, penetrating, and made me feel sick. The building’s open structure carries sound very well. Even from the third floor I could hear cars and car doors in the parking lot and conversations in the lobby. A room without a partial sea view, at the back and away from the stairs and entrance, might be quieter. We arrived to two days of planned electricity cuts from 7 AM to 3 PM, but nobody at check-in told us. Even the cellphone signal was gone for much of the day. Water heating is solar, so there’s no hot water without sun. You only get bottled drinking water on arrival day. There’s no coffee maker, which I’d expect at this room price, along with daily water bottles. The balcony had no furniture and was useless to us. The rooftop terrace and swimming pool (Alberca) were always locked when we tried them. We never asked why, which was our mistake, but it was odd that nobody mentioned this at check-in. For me, the price and quality were way out of balance.
