HM Hotel

The cleaning staff were great, but I definitely won't return. I rented a suite because the online photos made it look like an expensive, nice hotel. We were told it was fine to bring our own drinks since there's no bar or restaurant, then an employee rudely told us to leave the pool area because we had a cooler. He later said it was a misunderstanding. The rooms were extremely noisy from the street, the AC didn't work properly, toilets leaked all night, and there was no Wi-Fi. I've had much better stays at other hotels nearby for far less money.

The rooms are small, but clean and well kept, with easy access by stairs or elevator. Several restaurants are an easy walk away.

The restaurant downstairs was good and inexpensive, and the small pool was nice. Our bedroom was a little cramped, though the bed was very comfortable. I wouldn't suggest swimming at the beach there. The hotel is close to a cinema and several malls.

The broken pool edge was the main reason for my one-star rating. Tiles were missing all along the edge facing the beach, and while swimming normally face down, I struck it with my hand and got a cut about 3 inches long. One inch was fairly deep and the other two weren't so bad. The bar and restaurant said they weren't responsible and couldn't help. When I told the woman in the lobby, she blamed me, even though she said they'd known about the damage for days and were trying to fix it. They only started replacing the tiles the next day, after I'd used my own first aid kit to stop the bleeding. I took photos and video of the pool and repairs, and hope to post them so others don't have their vacation ruined. I had to get out on my own so I wouldn't affect other guests, and the next day I couldn't go on a snorkeling tour because the cut kept opening and bleeding. There were other problems too: I paid for two nights, but the hot water faucet was broken and no one was available to fix it at 7pm on the first night. The TV had no signal, and the main door handle was coming off, but they didn't fix that either. The pool injury is what really made this a bad experience.
