Costa Bonita has been one of my favorite places to return to since 2010. It feels like a home away from home, partly because the Canadian and US owners and renters are so personable. The staff are friendly and helpful, the grounds and gardens are lovely and well cared for, and everything is clean. It's a peaceful spot toward the far end of the beach, away from the city and near the Rui, with beautiful sunsets. You can watch the ocean, and sometimes whales and dolphins come close. There's a sandy beach, pools, a hot tub, and a beachfront restaurant serving fresh, tasty home-style food, especially the local seafood caught offshore. Security is there around the clock.
These are privately owned condos, so only authorized visitors are allowed in. No strangers.
The beach access works perfectly alongside the pool area, with heated and unheated pools and a hot tub to pick from. It’s a cozy resort where people seem to know one another. The restaurant and bar staff are great young guys, and the security team and everyone else we’ve met working here have been very friendly. I can’t say enough good things about this place.
The people here were wonderful, and I hope I can come back to enjoy them and the beaches again. The condo was beautiful, in good shape, and had everything we needed, even Netflix. The staff were also so helpful and friendly. One of the best vacations I've had.
The room was dirty and humid, the air conditioning barely worked, the bathroom smelled musty and had no AC, and the sheets and pillows were stained with sweat and other things I’d rather not guess at. We got just one roll of toilet paper for four people. After paying 6,500 Mexican pesos, I asked manager Johanna the next day to have the room cleaned and get fresh sheets and towels. She said cleaning would only happen when we checked out, or we could pay another 300 pesos for a change. She insisted that extra payment had to be in cash. That was after a big price increase for changing our Booking.com reservation from a room with two full beds at 4,500 Mexican pesos to a supposed sea-view room that was nowhere near the sea. The pool water was hot, which was miserable in such hot weather. The place is about 25 minutes from the tourist area and far from any shops, and by the end of the day only a security guard was there; the other employees were very rude. This was the worst place I’ve ever stayed. I’d never return or recommend it. There are much better located and cleaner places to enjoy your trip. I wouldn’t stay here even for free.
