Courtyard by Marriott Merida Downtown

When my husband's Alzheimer's grew worse and he was being cared for at a home in Merida, the people at this hotel helped me through each increasingly difficult day, until he passed. Everyone, from the front desk and bellmen to the restaurant servers, felt like family. I stayed here for stretches both before and after losing him, and their tremendous help will stay with me forever. The hotel is fantastic in every way. The rooftop pool has an amazing view, the restaurant serves so many wonderful dishes, the beds are cozy, and everything I could need is within walking distance. It's always number one on my list. 💯 💯 💯

The rooms were clean and very nice. Our airline had left us without a room during an overnight delay, and the staff worked hard to find one for us. I can't say enough about how friendly and hardworking they were that night.

The buffet at Napa restaurant was amazing, and they even had gluten-free cookies. Everyone on staff was great, especially Ricardo, who was attentive and service oriented.

The room smelled like sewage, so I had to put towels over the shower and sink. That was horrible. We were also disappointed that our promised upgrade went to someone else. When we got back from dinner, no parking was available, and the paid lot they sent us to was closed, so we had to leave the car on the street. It wasn't a pleasant area at night. We're never coming back to the courtyard n Mérida.
