Historic House Hotel Boutique

The pool was a highlight, and parking felt secure since it was off the street. We found it easy to get to good restaurants and attractions, and the staff were friendly and quick to help. Our room was cozy with a really comfortable bed. Historic House Hotel Boutique is a distinctive place to stay if you like old historic buildings. We had a great time and hope to return.

We left two days before our booking ended because we didn't feel safe at night. We had been told Mérida is a very safe city, but with nobody else in the house and easy access to the property, we were still uneasy. The staff were attentive when they were working, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The house itself keeps its original exterior, and the location is convenient, two blocks from Paseo Montejo. There is private parking and a patio with a cold pool. It’s presented as a “Boutique Hotel,” though it felt more like app-based lodging with cleaning. It didn’t have the usual hotel support, reception, or security around the clock. The facilities were basic as well, with a small bathroom and weak hot water pressure.

The staff were lovely and helpful, some of the best service we had in Mexico. The hotel has a rustic, chic look that made the stay feel distinctive and memorable. There wasn’t breakfast or a bar on site, though there was an empty area that looked as if it might be a bar. Maybe we happened to visit while it was being renovated. I’d recommend it for a memorable stay in Merida.

We’re renting the property for our wedding and can’t wait to have our guests stay in this historic home. The pool is spacious and beautiful, and the popular restaurants and bars are only a short walk away. A real gem in historic Merida. The staff have been so kind and helpful, 10/10 for service.
