The location is really good, and the colonial style building has spacious rooms. WiFi stayed stable, the kitchen was enough for making meals, and the staff were helpful, though a little distant. I stayed here two years ago and had been looking forward to coming back, but it has slipped a bit since then. It no longer has the wonderful atmosphere or great breakfast I remembered, and some repairs are needed. The showers are in especially bad shape, and the pool doesn't seem to get cleaned regularly.

We found it comfortable and quiet, and the staff were friendly and easy to reach. We booked specifically for the pool and included breakfast, but the pool was empty when we got there and nobody planned to fill it. Breakfast turned out to be white bread slices with jam. Those were both disappointing, so we wouldn't choose it again, though the stay itself was pleasant and comfortable.

A few minutes from the station and the centre, so the location is great. The rooms are large, with AC and fans, and the people working there are really nice. Breakfast includes peanut butter, butter, toast, cereal, bananas, coffee and tea. The whole place feels spacious and pleasant. The toilets and showers are a little odd, but I didn't mind. Definitely somewhere to stay in Merida!

Xiinbal worked perfectly for my Merida vacation. There are plenty of popular bars within walking distance, and some great cenotes just a short drive away. The bedroom A/C was fantastic, and the morning breakfast came in handy. The staff were friendly and could speak with me in both Spanish and English.

We had the double room for two nights. It was basic but clean. The room is right beside reception and the dining hall, though, so there's noise. Bring earplugs.
