Hotel Mayan Chic

We were charged $1100 for a room in an appalling, unsanitary state, even though we'd already mentioned a recommendation. The sheets and bedspread were visibly dirty, with what looked like pubic hair on them. When we complained, all they offered was to change the sheets. That felt insulting and showed no commitment to cleaning. If the bedding was like that, we could only infer the rest of the facilities were unhygienic too, which is alarming. As representatives of an oncology distributor, we know how critical hygiene and sanitation are. This hotel doesn't meet even the minimum standards. We're seriously considering filing a formal complaint with PROFECO (Federal Consumer Protection Agency) over the service breach and unsanitary conditions. We strongly recommend putting your money toward a place that meets basic hygiene standards, such as a City Express. For just $100 or $200 pesos more, you get better quality and breakfast included.

On October 23rd, my stay here was extremely disappointing. The hotel is notoriously dirty, and we found cockroaches. The sheets and bedspreads were soaked with organic matter, including pubic hair and bodily fluids. Hygiene matters, and these conditions were completely unacceptable. I also found the $11,000 cost outrageous and unjustified. For that price, I'd strongly suggest alternatives like City Express, where cleanliness is guaranteed and breakfast is included. I question whether the positive reviews are genuine. The photos of clean beds seem to have been added recently and don't reflect reality. In my opinion, the positive comments are fabricated to attract customers. A guest's job is to relax and not leave reviews.

The hosts were so kind and helpful, even keeping an eye on my things while I took care of my paperwork. Thanks so much! 🫶🏼 The room was quiet, very clean, and had a comfortable bed. It's around a 10-13 minute walk from the new consulate. There are shops and places to eat nearby, and the Va y Ven bus stops close by. 👍🏼

The rooms are clean and well kept, and the hotel has AC, internet, and a pool. It's close to restaurants and an Oxxo, and it worked perfectly for us. The staff's attitude was excellent too, they were friendly, helpful, and answered all our questions. A couple of things: the water takes a while to come on, and the bathroom is very small. Thank you.
