Breakfast was perfect each morning, and the location made it easy to walk everywhere. Mansión Mérida feels full of character and soul, with thoughtful touches like local soaps and framed photographs throughout the exceptional home. Raúl and his team made everything feel personal and effortless. They seemed to anticipate every detail. We felt lucky to stay there and will be back.

The building's history is part of what makes staying here special. It's one of the city's most striking and historically significant mansions. The owners have added modern comforts, though a historic place like this naturally has some limits on what can be done. We found the location and service exceptional, and the mansion itself was exceptional too. Staff were thoughtful and helpful with every question and request. Breakfast was amazing, with lots of Mexican and international choices. Some of the bad reviews seem out of date or delusional to me. 10/10, especially for anyone who values an authentic stay with historical context. Definitely recommend.

If you're headed to Merida, splurge on the Mansion. You'll pay a bit more than at the modern business hotels on the north side, but life is short, and this is an experience worth having. The location is a great base for the city, the regional Mayan sites, Celestun's flamingo sanctuary, Gulf beaches, and Yucatan haciendas. This region has fascinating historical and archaeological sites, a rich local culture, and flavorful Mayan food. I've traveled internationally for years and stayed in many Merida hotels over many visits. Hotel rooms are usually forgettable, but there's nothing else like the Mansion if you want a stay you'll remember. The hotel is a luxurious 19th century mansion on charming Parque Hidalgo, just a block from the Cathedral and Plaza Principal. It is owned and run by the grandson of the original builder. Up the main staircase, a beautifully appointed loggia leads to the few guest rooms. They're magnificent, with 20-foot beamed ceilings, fine finishes, detailed chandeliers, and luxurious en suite baths. Breakfast in the lush central patio is an ideal start to the day, with excellent local food, attentive personal service, and care in the details. There's also a pool in an inner courtyard, plus a ground-floor restaurant and bar with seating indoors and outside on the square. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the stay feels familial, from valet parking and a welcome drink to departure.

You're right in the city center, yet I didn't hear street noise in the rooms or the inner courtyard restaurant. The food was awesome, and breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts I've had. Nothing lukewarm from a buffet here, everything is made for you and brought to your table. It's an impressive restored mansion with 14 suites and exceptional staff. A great hotel.
