The staff were genuinely friendly, which was the one bright spot. My room was very loud, humid, poorly lit, and smelled awful. I paid for a room with an outside-facing window, but the window looked into the building. The listing photos also didn't look anything like the room I got. I booked and paid for a QUEEN room but was given a double. I asked them to make things right with a refund, and they did nothing.

The location was perfect, but the room smelled unpleasant and didn't look as nice as it did in the photos.

The staff were the best part. The man who let us in carried my friend's very heavy suitcase upstairs and showed us the locks, which were actually straightforward despite other people apparently having trouble. The morning staff member was lovely too and quickly brought toilet paper after we found none in the bathroom. The men working there were kind and very helpful. The room was tiny, with no closet, stale air, and no character. It had a window facing the building's interior, and even with the blackout shade down, fluorescent light leaked around the edges. Two empty flowerpots didn't help. It felt like a white cardboard box. The bathroom fan rattled loudly, and we could hear everything in the stairwell. An empty building might be quiet, but with people around, you're out of luck. We paid $1600 pesos ($77USD), and it felt more like a $650 pesos ($30) room. The location wasn't worth the price for us, and the room didn't meet even our simple expectations.

The staff couldn't have been nicer. I was tempted to treat them to gelato from next door. The room was lovely, the bed comfortable, and the shower hot. As a solo traveler, I enjoyed my stay, with eateries in both directions. It's a little farther from the main part of Condesa. I usually take my metrocard on the Line 1 Insurgentes metrobus, though I've also taken the metro to Patriotismo and walked. Uber is another option and so economical. Just an observation, not a complaint: if your room faces Michoacán, you'll definitely want a sleep mask and earplugs because of the light and street noise from Calle Michoacán.
