Roma Norte Hostal

The place had a pretty ominous feel. There were mosquitoes everywhere, and the washrooms were dirty. On our second night, the running water stopped completely, so I couldn’t shower or do anything. They blast loud music at 7 am, and the noise from people talking, yelling, and jeering in the halls can be even louder. There’s a coworking area, but its lights wouldn’t turn on. Highly wouldn’t recommend it. Avoid at all costs.

The hostel was nicely decorated inside, and my room was clean and functional. The staff were friendly, and the location was great. My room faced a school, though, so there was a ton of noise from morning until 11 pm. The Wi-Fi connected on my phone and computer, but the signal in my room was too weak to use. Still, it was a good deal for a private bed with a shared bathroom.

We met lots of cool people from around the world, and the vibe here is really unique. Every staff member was amazing. Alberto especially was friendly, honest, and very accommodating. Such an incredible find in the city!

I had a reservation for a private room and had already paid, with the paperwork for my service dog. The man at the front door still wouldn’t let me in, even though having the dog is my legal right. The listing says check-in is available at 6 am, but at 6:30 I was still alone outside on a cold street. I’d like to speak to the owner. I’ve never dealt with anyone so rude and disrespectful, and I wouldn’t recommend this hostel. They don’t seem to understand how hospitality is supposed to work. A 0/0 experience.
