Casa Tamayo

The staff greeted us warmly when we arrived and each time afterward. Our family of four had a wonderful stay at Casa Tamayo last week. The home is stylish, with a clear appreciation for art and design, and the rooms were clean with very comfortable beds. It’s a great location, just a short walk to the main square, markets, and restaurants. A few small additions would help: tissue boxes in the rooms, and hair conditioner and body wash or soap in the showers. We were lucky to have a TV in the deluxe room, but the other room didn’t have one. It would be a nice gesture to add TVs to the other rooms. We’d gladly stay at Casa Tamayo again on our next trip to CDMX. Thanks to all the wonderful staff, see you next time!

Casa Tamayo feels like a home away from home, thanks in large part to the staff’s genuine warmth and personal attention. Their service made every interaction feel welcoming, and the friendly, secure atmosphere gave me a sense of belonging whenever I visited. The hotel is in the heart of historic Coyoacán, a great spot for anyone looking for an authentic Mexican experience. The neighborhood is full of traditional art, interesting shops, and excellent food, with plenty to explore. I wholeheartedly recommend Casa Tamayo for a stay in Mexico City. A family-owned place that feels like Mexico, not a cold hotel chain. I loved it. The rooms are nice and the price is right, and there’s a full kitchen guests can use comfortably, along with a lovely dining room. Several big families made good use of the cooking setup while I was there. There are several pleasant public rooms, too, with a Kahlo and Rivera painting or two to discover. If you’re lucky, you may catch a family barbecue and dance party in the entrance courtyard, with a marimba band or a nice mariachi group.

The owners and staff were always around to answer questions or make suggestions, and the laundry service was a blessing after weeks of travel. My room was huge, with a really comfortable bed, and having a kitchen was perfect when I didn’t feel like eating out. The property is beautiful, with lovely artworks, and Coyoacan feels lively but very safe. Highly recommended.
