The rooms are on the small side, so finding space for luggage is tricky. You can hear people in the hallway through the thin walls. The location is very good, but drivers for Uber and taxis always told us to be careful in the area. You notice the kinds of people out in the neighborhood during the day, and at night it's advisable to take an Uber instead of walking back, since it isn't very safe for tourists. Nothing happened to us, though. The staff were always friendly and accommodating, and there was someone at reception all the time. You could order food to your room, and it had everything we needed. Rooms were cleaned when requested. Breakfast wasn't served, but on Dia de los Muertos the hotel gave us food and drinks before we headed out, which made us very happy.

The rooms were clean, and the staff were friendly. It's a ten-minute walk to Centro, with shops and markets nearby, and the hotel is close to the airport and good transport links. The building layout made it a little noisy, but earplugs worked fine at night.

Friendly, helpful staff were a plus, and the historic center and main sights are only a few blocks away. There are plenty of beautiful old churches and buildings nearby. Even with busy street markets close by, their noise doesn't really reach the rooms. We extended our stay mostly because it was convenient for the airport, but I wouldn't stay again. The room was small, the bed uncomfortable, water pressure low, and noise was a problem. The room itself got warm, with no air conditioning, just a portable tower fan. The double bed felt more like a large single, and the compact bathroom had weak water pressure and took a while to get hot water. The building's central courtyard carries sound between floors, including the night staff's radio or TV, while thin walls also let you hear other guests. The internal window has to stay open for ventilation, which doesn't help with noise. Each floor has a water dispenser, but it only gave cold water, though it was supposed to offer hot and cold.

The room was really small, but clean and a good price, and it's very close to the Cathedral and Zocalo. I'm giving it five stars because the staff were so friendly. It can get noisy when people move around at night since the rooms aren't well insulated. We were also warned by both Uber drivers and police that the area apparently isn't very safe at night.
