I left early because I found bed bugs in my room, which made it feel unsafe to stay there. The room wasn't properly maintained and fell short of basic hygiene, making the stay stressful and disruptive. Cleanliness is a basic expectation at any hotel, and this property didn't meet it. Future guests should think carefully about the hygiene conditions before booking. I had a very disappointing experience at Hotel Embassy in Mexico City.

Hotel Embassy is good value, with a great location surrounded by restaurants and within walking distance of Zona Rosa. The customer service was helpful and attentive throughout, and I appreciated how quickly the front desk responded when my internet stopped working while I was on my computer. They shared another Wi-Fi connection, which I was truly grateful for. The hotel has no air conditioning or heating. Even so, I had a very pleasant stay, and the price was good for what I got.

The room and daily cleaning made the price feel like a good deal. We got a huge room on the fifth floor, with a 2-by-2-meter bed, a big bathroom, and a window facing the main street that let in plenty of light and gave us a nice view. The old windows do let street voices through, though. If we came back, I’d try a room facing the backyard, even if it only looked onto a wall, since it seems quieter. We picked Hotel Embassy after comparing prices around Zona Rosa. It was the cheapest we found, at 800M$ or 900M$ with air conditioning per night, about 44€/night, and there was no breakfast. The front desk guys were young, kind, and always smiling. It has a family-business feel, like the parents have left the kids to run things, and it seems they’re working to improve based on older guest reviews. Their English needs practice, which would help international visitors, but they were very sweet. I’d recommend it to budget travelers.

Roma Norte is my favorite part of CDMX, and this hotel sits right in the middle of it. You can walk to restaurants, parks, shops, and plenty of classic local sights. Some of the city’s best street food is nearby too. For a budget place, the rooms are clean and have what you need.

We booked this room to leave our luggage, rest, and shower before our flight, but the room and bathroom were in such poor shape that we didn’t feel comfortable doing any of that. We left early and spent the time elsewhere until our flight. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. Our check-in was already late. We arrived at 5 PM, though check-in starts at 3, and reception sent us to Room 302. A cleaner said it wasn’t ready, so we had to wait. Reception eventually gave us a different room, but its door was already open when we arrived, which felt unsettling. The bed frame was broken at both ends, with pieces on the floor. There were puddles beside the bed, long hairs on the floor and shower wall, and a noticeable hole in the sink counter. Expedia had advertised air conditioning, one of the main reasons we booked, but there was no way to turn it on, no remote or working control.
