The food at the hotel was fine, and the room was okay, but the shower wasn’t. Its temperature kept switching between hot and cold, and the unusual plastic tray let water leak into the area around the shower. The area itself was fine, though I wouldn’t stay there again. Checkout was the strangest part: the front desk couldn’t provide a copy of my bill, so I had to email to request one.

The Zocola is very close, with the big square changing every evening and making for a lovely walk. Zocolo metro is nearby too, and a ride costs 5 pesos, about 20 cents or 30 UK pounds. Get a travel card, top it up, and you can use it for contactless metro entry and buses. The hotel itself is comfortable, with good rooms and a great breakfast. Evening meals are decent as well. Praise to Alberto and the young lady who was serving.

I had a bad experience, especially after taking one of the hotel taxis and being scammed. The taxis constantly block the entrance, making it difficult to get in. When I arrived, the bellhop couldn’t see me because of them, and when I left, he didn’t help with my luggage even though he was standing by the receptionist’s desk and wasn’t busy. The receptionist had asked whether I needed a taxi, and I said no. It also seemed the bellhop only helped with bags when people used a taxi. The staff are friendly and the hotel itself is fine, but I won’t come back. There’s no heating: ventilating the room makes it very cold, while keeping it at a normal temperature leaves it smelling musty.

Brian, David, Jonathan, and guest relations staff member Rebecca took great care of us. The breakfast cafe team were a big help, and everyone is doing their best. Highly recommend staying here.
