We stayed in a few different rooms during December, after a terrible Airbnb experience suddenly left us without a place in CDMX. Arriving at Hotel Parque México Boutique was an immediate relief. The rooms were neat, clean, and stocked, and you’re right in the heart of Condesa, just steps from shops and several restaurants. The staff made the biggest difference: they were kind, accommodating, and fantastic all around. I can’t recommend this hotel enough.

I needed a desk for remote work, so I couldn’t stay for the rest of my time in CDMX, but I’m so grateful I found this place. It’s a great budget option, with free WiFi, clean and comfortable rooms, and little kitchenettes with all the basics. The room wasn’t perfect: it could get noisy because the window faced the hallway, and the old bathroom had a strong plumbing water smell that filled the room if I forgot to close the door. Still, the hotel is beautiful inside, especially the hallways and roof. Its location in the heart of Condesa is unbeatable and felt extremely safe, with a gate that closes at night. After two Airbnb problems back to back, I had nowhere to go and barely any money at 10PM. I used my last $300 while waiting for Airbnb refunds to book two nights at the nearest hotel in my budget. I arrived shaken and crying from the stress. Naomi on the night staff and the bellman, whose name I didn’t get, were incredibly helpful and understanding. They settled me in and did what they could to calm me down; seeing the room let me breathe a sigh of relief. When I checked out today, they gave me a cute little bag of crystals, a thoughtful touch.

I’d made the reservation in person that morning with my service dog beside me, despite having reservations. The restaurant staff barred both of us. They bullied and assaulted me, and I believe that was a violation of the law. The law still applies, and I hope the people working there learn it and don’t do this again.

We went to the terrace in the middle of the day for refrescos and were told we could only order alcoholic drinks. The sodas were right there on the drinks menu, but staff still refused to serve them and tried to steer us toward alcohol. That’s insulting and awful service, whatever they call the policy. So much for “The customer is always right.”, right?

I’d give it a solid 4 and stay again. The location is hard to beat: Parque Mexico is lovely for people watching and enjoying nature, and there are loads of great cafes and restaurants in this central neighborhood. The hotel’s terrace restaurant feels like a treehouse. I liked the homey, colorful, artsy look and all the plants. The open-air courtyard was nice, and I could open my windows in the evening. My room was quiet, the blackout curtains helped me sleep in, and they offered a fan for the warm weather. Even over the weekend I couldn’t hear the music from my room, and it stopped at a reasonable hour; they also turned off the courtyard lights around midnight. The little touches were nice too, including chocolates, tissues, water, nuts, and really nice shampoos. The beds are firm, but I slept well. There were a few things in the room that need attention: spots of mold on the bathroom ceiling, and a kitchenette sink with an “out of service” sign that looked years old. It was a bit rusty, with a nasty yellowing drain plug, and for the price the sink should be fixed or removed. There were also some hairs on the floor when I arrived. I asked for it to be cleaned, and the staff apologized, deep cleaned it, and paid close attention for the rest of my stay. Even with those issues, it was a lovely spot and I’d recommend it. I wish I’d taken pictures of the room!
