After the dios de los muertos celebration, we tried to check in around 10 pm. The front desk guard told us our room had been cancelled and the hotel was full. Neither we nor Expedia had been notified. Expedia and the guard were extremely helpful in finding us new accommodations, but we didn’t get checked into the new hotel until 1:30 AM.

The customer service and location were the only good parts. The hotel was clean, but neglected: stained furniture, holes in the walls, and old, torn room furnishings. The sink drained poorly, the towels were supposed to be white but were grey, and the box mattress was stained and had no sheets. The curtain was dirty and broken. The worst part was how clearly sound carried between rooms. I could hear the person next door brushing their teeth, spitting, and blowing their nose.

They make you feel welcome right away, with real courtesy. Alessandra and Aniceto were especially kind to everyone. 🏆

We were supposed to stay five nights, but my girlfriend and I left after the first one and found an Airbnb the next morning. The room felt more like a dorm than a hotel. It was hot and stuffy in April, and although fans were offered, none was available for us. Opening the window helped with air, but it faced the courtyard, so every footstep, conversation, slammed door, toilet flush, and running tap carried into the room. The opening was also wide enough for someone to climb through, which made me uneasy even though I can't say how likely that was. The bed was hard, and the pillows were unbelievably flat. We got one bath towel and no hand towels. When we asked for another bath towel, the one they brought had a hole in it. The water was hot and had good pressure, and we didn't find bed bugs, so things could have been worse, but I wouldn't recommend staying here. We booked through a third party and are asking for a refund. Losing a few hundred dollars felt worth it just to get out.
