Hotel Santiurde

Saturday nights can be a problem if you’re hoping to sleep. They apparently have a rock band playing in the lobby, and in such a small hotel the music comes through at full volume. I couldn’t rest at all that night. I expected a peaceful, relaxing mountain stay in Real del Monte, so I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet break. I also don’t think a rock band fits the hotel.

The rooms were very comfortable, with fireplaces, great water pressure and temperature, and quality beds, blankets, and bathrobes. Saturday’s live music, with an excellent singer, was a lovely part of the stay. The hotel has a beautiful view over the mountains and town, and it’s tucked into one of the highest parts of Real del Monte. I chose it for a peaceful, unusual romantic dinner for my wife and me, and it surpassed what I expected. She loved the wine tasting and four-course meal in the hotel’s private cellar. You do need a reservation. The food, wines, and spirits went together beautifully, and she especially appreciated the service, explanations, setting, and everything we tasted. It’s good value, and I’d definitely return for a romantic trip for two. It’s less suited to exploring the surrounding area. Children aren’t allowed.

We had a beautiful, comfortable room and excellent service. It’s a lovely spot to unwind away from the city, and I’d recommend the hotel if you’re staying in Real del Monte. The spa is wonderfully relaxing, and the wine tasting is a great experience too.

It’s small but comfortable, though the events there get pretty loud. That could be addressed, even a little, since guests may be trying to rest or work and the noise can bother them. I also went with my pet and found a scorpion in the room. They need to be more careful, because that could become very serious for pets.
