CHN Hotel Monterrey Norte, Trademark Collection by Wyndham

The front desk staff were very nice, but the room was dirty. The curtains looked like they’d never been washed, and I found roaches in several places: three in the bathroom, one by the headboard, and two near the TV. The hallways on the 10th, 12th, and 3rd floors also looked like they hadn’t been vacuumed in months. Really bad place.

The employees were very nice, but the buffet was just okay. Both times I stayed, the sink was clogged and leaking. A room for four came with only two towels, and there weren’t enough toiletries. The plumbing needs attention.

The next day, after we’d been traveling all day, we were woken up by two men who needed to fumigate the room. The hotel was fumigating the whole property, but nobody had warned us, and the men weren’t in uniform. They also ignored our Do Not Disturb sign. At check-in on Sunday night, isreal at the front desk was very rude. My family had dropped us off, and he checked the cameras, called our room to ask when they’d leave, then demanded a time and said we’d be charged if we didn’t give one. Horrible experience.

The bed was comfortable and the parking felt secure, but that’s about all I can say in its favor. The pillows were sofa pillows being used on the bed. The hotel was filthy: the bathroom smelled like sewage, the carpet looked as if it hadn’t been vacuumed in ages, and there was trash and staining in the hallways. We paid over 1,400 pesos, which this place wasn’t worth. I don’t recommend it, and Wyndham should take its name off the hotel.
