Hotel 500

I could hear people in the room next door, and the beds were extremely uncomfortable. Only one elevator was working, and it could take just four people at a time. I only booked because everywhere else was full. This felt like a one-star hotel, probably one of the worst places I’ve stayed. A lot needs fixing and improving.

I found bedbugs in both rooms I was assigned. In room 311, I saw them on the bed and wall within minutes and took a dead one to reception. They moved me to 811, but two hours later I woke with bites on my hand and found bedbugs there too. I left for another hotel after only three hours across the two rooms. The receptionist said there was nothing he could do and asked me to return the next morning to speak with the manager. When I did, the manager initially denied it, saying they had checked and it wasn’t bedbugs. I showed him photos and videos, and he responded, “So what?” There was no refund, apology, or investigation. The hygiene was horrible and the service was pathetic. My worst experience in 17 years of travel.

The continental breakfast choices changed from day to day. Also, the second elevator stayed out of service for my entire visit, which sometimes caused serious delays, like when you need to get to the restroom in your room on the eighth floor. When I paid for extra days at the desk, the exchange rate was under 17.5 instead of around 19. I asked about it and staff blamed the hotel's bank.

Great place to stay, with really clean, lovely rooms and a very nice price. It's close to centro, so most of the good spots are nearby.
