The main reason to stay here is being close to the main bus stop. Otherwise, it's an average hotel in a location I wouldn't recommend for general sightseeing. I wouldn't walk around at night because of the risk of being robbed, and there's prostitution nearby. There aren't good restaurants around either, and the railway across the street makes noise at night. The price isn't very appealing compared with safer, nicer hotels farther south. I paid $100 CAD for a room at Fastos, while a much nicer room at the Krystal Hotel was $120. This might work for backpackers who need the bus stop nearby, but I'd avoid it otherwise.

The hotel is right across from the Central de Autobuses, which is handy for getting around on foot. A single room starts at $85. Service was excellent, though they didn't provide small toothpaste. There's a 24-hour restaurant in the lobby, plus free continental breakfast from 7 to 10 am. They can store extra luggage, and there's a lobby refrigerator for medicines like insulin. Rooms have WiFi, cable telephone, cable TV, and nice decoration. Monterrey, N.L. MEXICO is one of the metropolitan cities that compares with New York, China, and Buenos Aires Argentina.

The rooms were adequate, and the location was great. Service was excellent.

The morning crew were polite and quick, and served us a delicious breakfast. My first night's steak, though, was cold and chewy. The cashier just charged us and didn't explain where our room was or what amenities came with it. Luckily, the person who helped with our bags gave us useful information. Also, be aware that they ask guests to wear a mask.

Since I travel around Mexico by bus, being able to walk straight from the Central de Autobuses to this hotel is important to me. It's my favorite in Monterrey: very clean, with good service and courteous, helpful staff.
