The capsule beds are comfortable, with a light, power outlet, and a roomy locker for each person. Toilets and showers are spotless, and there’s free water and a microwave, though no kitchen. The main road can get noisy on weekends, and the capsules may feel hot in warmer months. It’s centrally located, clean, secure with a night guard, and excellent value. Great for a short stay.

The location is great, just two blocks from the main plaza, and the hosts are kind and helpful with local food and tour tips. They also paid attention to where to place me when others were sharing the room. Carola was especially wonderful. I rented a double bed, which worked perfectly, and mine had a nice view of the public library. I stayed five days and wouldn’t choose anywhere else next time. I felt safe and comfortable, the beds were clean and comfy, and the bathroom was clean with hot water.

The hostel and its facilities are nice, but the Wi-Fi is very slow, and the locker and bed keys work badly. That’s especially inconvenient if you’re on an upper bed. During my stay, people drank and chatted right outside the dorm until 4:00 in the morning, and nobody from the hostel seemed to manage things overnight. I wouldn’t recommend going during high season or on a weekend unless that changes. Then at 5:00 a.m., a guy who worked, lived, or volunteered there turned up singing and shouting. Quite a spectacle.

I came back twice, for almost two weeks total, once in summer and once for Día de los Muertos. The hostel was rarely busy, and the staff were very friendly. There’s no kitchen, but there is a game room and plenty of tables and chairs to work at if you’re a digital nomad. Wi-Fi was decent, and I really liked the wooden privacy screen on each bed.
