Hotel Mesón de los Remedios

We chose the master suite, which has two floors, a king bed, a queen bed, a sofa bed, two TVs, and one and a half bathrooms. The room was cleaned daily, and there was plenty of hot water with good pressure. Checkout is at noon. The location worked really well for us, about a five-minute walk from the main plaza and Morelia’s restaurants and activities. You can pull up out front to load or unload, and parking is included about 100 yards away, though access is restricted. Tour buses can pick you up right at the door. This peaceful, family-friendly hotel is simple, nice, and clean, and the staff were kind and helpful. The included basic breakfast had orange juice, fruit, granola, yogurt, and as much coffee as you wanted. We bought bread from a nearby bakery and brought it in without a problem. They also offer more complete breakfasts ordered à la carte. We really enjoyed our stay and recommend it.

Osiris was a standout. He seemed to enjoy helping visitors through check-in and during their stay, and the whole staff were professional and very helpful. My wife and I have traveled around the U.S., Mexico, and Europe, and this small hotel was fantastic. It’s about a safe five-minute walk from the historic center. Our family group of four had a two-floor room, with a queen bed and sofa sleeper plus a half bath downstairs, and a king bed and full bath upstairs. That layout was a pleasant surprise. The rooms were clean, truly clean, and the beds were comfortable. The included continental breakfast was excellent, with juice, coffee, toast, and fruit, plenty to get the day started. There was also a full breakfast option for a small extra cost. We loved the hotel and staff and had a great time. Free parking is included just around the corner.

It’s a great place for the price, with good service, about a five-minute walk from downtown Morelia. The city is adorable, amazing, and full of lovely people. The food is excellent and authentic, real Mexican food with tortillas, nothing like fake Italian food. Nothing comes from a microwave. And please, don’t compare Morelia with U.S. cities like Hawaii, Miami, Las Vegas, or New York.

The lovely courtyard is where they serve breakfast, and the location is great. My room was comfortable and clean, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. For the price, I got more than I expected.
