Take the trolley tour first to get shown around, then explore the beautiful churches on foot. The guide makes just one stop where you can step into a church that's partly covered in gold, but you should also do a longer tour on your own to see the biggest cathedral. It's amazing. The restroom is inside the restaurant across the street, and they charge for it, just so you know.

Plaza Morelos is right in the middle of Morelia, with lovely gardens and plenty of room to stroll, walk the dog, or spend time with friends. The colonial buildings, monuments, and art make it feel like a walk through history. The park is named for the Mexican hero Morelos, whose story is told here, and it's one of the city's main attractions. It's a safe spot for visitors of all ages, and people are often sharing their talents or other things to watch and take part in. You can walk here from the main cathedral downtown in about 20 minutes. Restaurants are nearby. There aren't public restrooms close by, but you can buy a drink at one of the restaurants and ask to use theirs.
