Hotel & Suites Villa del Sol

The pool area was the best part, though there were three people in black standing awkwardly at each entrance. The restaurant was terrible, and we skipped breakfast before leaving around 7:30am. Our sleep was rough: dogs barked and fought all night, then transport trucks braking as they came into the city kept waking us. The rooms were dingy, smelled of mold, had fried outlets, and lights that flickered. At check-in, the front desk staff were cranky and unwelcoming. I wouldn't return or recommend the place. I can't understand reviews calling it a great family hotel with a good restaurant.

The staff were very friendly, and the room was mostly clean apart from all the hair on the pillows. I also thought the pillows needed cases. The bathroom had a strong water or mold smell. It was cold in Morelia, so I appreciated having a mini split AC and heater in the room. We stayed just one night, and the hotel was okay for that.

The complimentary breakfast was great, and so was the food and service. No extra pet fees is always a nice bonus!

The restaurant was a pleasant surprise, with great food and good service. The rooms are a little dated, and the water was cold on the evening we checked in, though it warmed up after running for ten minutes. It was good value for the money. I was surprised they were cleaning the pool even though it was winter. Worth a visit.
