The fan in the room was a lifesaver 😍. The place is clean and quaint, with professional, welcoming staff. It’s a quiet neighborhood, just steps from Jalatlaco and Centro square.

I like a quiet place without frills, and this was a colorful, comfortable oasis with beautiful decor, fresh air, and room to rest. The food and hospitality were excellent, and breakfast was hearty. Great value, too. Local restaurants and art galleries are close by, and it’s a safe, stimulating walk to Santo Domingo square, the museum, and gardens.

We enjoyed staying here, especially the very good breakfasts and helpful staff. The street was quiet, and El Centro is within walking distance. The courtyard can get a little noisy when people talk, since the sound echoes. Everyone also slams the big doors.

Casa Lidia was a great fit for my friend and me. We liked the charming, quiet barrio, away from the bustle of the crowded Centro Historico. It’s about a 15-minute walk to Oaxaca's main cathedral and Zocalo. The hotel is pretty, with a small inner courtyard and spacious double rooms. Breakfast was tasty and included, so it was very well-priced. The owners, Toño and Flora, were especially helpful and generous with advice and accommodation. One of them was always at the desk.

Flor and Toño were welcoming hosts. They patiently answered questions, spoke English, and helped arrange tours and taxis. As a young senior woman traveling alone, I felt safe and welcomed. Casa is in a quiet spot off the main road, but it’s easy to get to the town center. The basic, clean rooms were refreshed daily and quiet, apart from airplane noise. Internet access was good. Breakfast was fresh, delicious, and varied each day, made per person. Nearby, there’s a bakery cafe bar down the cobbled streets, so bring good footwear, plus a corner shop. I also thought the nearby vegan cat cafe was a great find.
