I was in a top floor room with big windows and views of the hills. It felt very new, and the top floor rooms have a large terrace and kitchenette. The staff were eager to get us what we needed. The neighborhood is more residential and sits above the center, but it's still within walking distance.

The building was loud and echoey, so you could hear everything the neighbors were doing. There was no internet in the room, and the bed blanket was like a polyester curtain. We paid $100 CAD/$1400 pesos for one night. Really glad we only needed a place for a night.

I spent 9 nights at this lovely casa and definitely recommend it. It's decorated in warm, vibrant colours in the spirit of Oaxaca, and the owner and staff were friendly and welcoming, even with my limited Spanish. My room was cleaned daily, with fresh bed linens and towels. The neighborhood is quiet and safe, and I enjoyed walking to Oaxaca historic center every day and exploring nearby. Xochimilco has pretty street art, especially around Jose Lopez Alvrez street, just a 2-3 minute walk away. There's art all around the area. Mercado Zonal La Cascada is about a 10 minute walk, and I bought my fruits and vegetables there.
