Hotel con Corazón Oaxaca

We loved staying here and would definitely come back. The included breakfast was delicious, and the rooms felt light and bright, with a big bathroom. The hotel is very clean, the staff are lovely, and it has a good mission. We missed signing up for the cooking class, but after we got back late one night, the team kindly shared some mini memelas and salsas with us. Also, try Chilaquiles Que next door for breakfast one morning.

Breakfast felt like a three-course meal every morning, it was that good. The rooms are beautiful and kept in great shape, and the staff are so helpful and welcoming. We had a lovely time and would absolutely return.

The location is quiet, but it's easy to get to the center, and we also walked to La Reforma neighborhood. The walks were simple and we always felt safe. I stayed five nights in room 13 with a friend, with the room set up as two twin beds. It was roomy, spotless, and had everything we needed. There was some noise between rooms through the bathroom, as other reviews mention, but it never happened overnight or disrupted our sleep. The bathroom ventilation brings in light and fresh air, which is great, though it also lets a little sound through. The food was AMAZING. Great coffee, sweet fruit, and a main dish that was as beautiful as it was delicious. Breakfast being included was a real perk. The people were the best part for me, though. Diego and Itahi helped us plan tours, choose places to eat, decide what to explore on our own, and get taxis. Paulina helped us check in for our flight, and we saw her in the evenings when we went for tea and wine at the honor bar, a very cool perk. Martha brought breakfast each morning and kindly practiced Spanish with me. Thanks to all of them, and to the rest of the staff whose names I didn’t catch.

The breakfast was fantastic, and the staff were warm and friendly. It’s a short walk into town, and the area felt very safe, with a police station next door. There are restaurants nearby, though most of the higher quality ones are in town. The rooms are small but practical. The bed was extra firm and the pillows flimsy. We had an issue with hot water, as did some other guests, but they let us use a spare room to shower until the heater was fixed. A solid option, especially for a first trip to Oaxaca.
