Hotel Tabáa Oaxaca

The rooms and bathrooms look lovely and are designed well for everyday use. Breakfast is continental, with fruit, yogurt, granola, bread, peanut butter and jelly, plus a Nespresso coffee maker. There are pleasant places to sit in the courtyard, and comfortable woven lounge chairs at the small tables outside each room. Light-blocking shades cover the large window. The hotel sits on the edge of the interesting Jaltlaco neighborhood. Know before you go: most of the courtyard is attractive, but a quarter of it looks onto a vacant lot with a kiddie swimming pool, as in the photo. For the price, I expected front desk staff who could converse well in English and help with travel planning and other requests; that wasn't my experience here. Other hotels at the same price might offer a rooftop terrace, full breakfast, or pools. Every room borders the street. In our ground-floor room, morning traffic made it hard to sleep late. The beds are hard and transfer your partner's movements. If I'd booked earlier, I could have chosen from more luxury boutique hotels. Next time I'll look elsewhere or get more for my money with Airbnb.

Jalatlaco is a lovely neighborhood, and this hotel is within walking distance of the main sights. Even with that convenient location, it was quiet enough for a good night's sleep. The friendly staff were incredibly accommodating, and the rooms were stylish, very clean, and comfortable. Great value, highly recommend, and I'd stay again.

The hotel has lots of character and sits in a great part of Oaxaca for exploring the city. The rooms are comfortable, and the staff are attentive and friendly. Absolutely charming.

I loved having tea available at night and sitting in the courtyard in the morning. Breakfast is simple but free, which I appreciated since other hotels we stayed at charged for little things like that. The hotel is adorable, the rooms are modern and super clean, and the service was fantastic. Staff were attentive and friendly, and we could walk to the centro. The cute dog and cat were a fun bonus. We absolutely loved our stay!
