Suites Cardón

The room itself was very nice, comfortable, and clean, but getting inside was a terrible experience. We arrived to find nobody there to greet us, and after searching and knocking around without success, a woman helped by calling the manager from her cell phone. The Hotels.com app never explained that entry and room codes would be sent, or that we needed to arrange access this way, so it felt more like an Airbnb than a hotel. The manager said he'd called my cell, but I was on the road to Oaxaca and the call never came through. That explanation didn't make sense to me. The woman who helped us was kind, but the app should clearly warn guests about the process.

The rooms at Suites Cardón have a welcoming, authentic feel, with modern Oaxacan design, colorful textile details, and carved wooden headboards. The service was outstanding, and the staff were so attentive and friendly. You're only steps from the Santo Domingo Temple and the Zócalo, making it a great base for exploring the city. Dolocenter is right around the corner, and I found it an amazing holistic health center. I tried the hyperbaric chamber, which is wonderful for oxygenating the body, easing stress, and recovering from travel fatigue. They also have ozone therapy, neural therapy, and revitalizing serums. My massage there was one of the best I've had anywhere. They use several techniques and tailor the therapy to you, leaving you feeling brand new. Pairing Dolocenter with Suites Cardón made for a really relaxing trip. I'd highly recommend it if you want to pamper yourself.

The rooms feel pleasant and clean, with a lovely regional touch, and the location is right in the heart of the city. The staff are incredibly friendly and offer great tips for sightseeing. The agency that takes you out to experience Oaxaca's rich culture was punctual and attentive.

Israel, the concierge, was very helpful and could arrange tours and taxis. We got several bottles of drinking water each day, and the rooms were very clean. The hotel is well maintained and has traditional decor. It's in a great spot in Oaxaca, within easy walking distance of restaurants, sights, and markets.
