We trusted the listing and ended up with a nasty surprise. On Booking or Expedia, the hotel advertises rooms for about 50USD a night. But when you call after arriving, they say they have rooms and offer to book directly. Once there, they charge 500USD per night, five times the listed amount, saying they don’t work with any website and won’t honor its prices. We hadn’t looked at other options because we thought we had a place to stay. If you’re fine paying a lot for a two-star hotel, that’s your choice, but I’d say don’t waste time considering this one. They’ve already scammed a Korean guy and locals.

I liked my two-night stay, and the hotel is good value. It’s right in the town center, with cafes and restaurants nearby. The rooms were clean, and the internet was fast enough for video calls. I would’ve liked a few more power outlets and hotter shower water.

A lovely place to stay when you’re visiting Patzcuaro, one of Mexicos Pueblo Magicos.

What kind of Bates Motel is this? We paid an outrageous price and nearly ended up sleeping outside. Nobody told us they were closing, and no one came to give us the key box code. We knocked and called for half an hour. Another guest finally let us in. Three other people had the same problem. The room was awful, the beds were uncomfortable, and there was no hot water. We’d booked through a platform months ahead, then got an email five days before arriving saying they weren’t using it. They never even checked with us to make sure we had a room. By sheer luck, one was available, or we’d have been on the street. The whole experience was disgusting. The Cecil Hotel would’ve been a better choice. If I could, I wouldn’t give this place a single star. DON’T COME!

The restaurant has a healthy focus, which I personally love, and I’d definitely go back. The enchiladas were absolutely divine, and everything else we tried was delicious too. I especially liked the sugar-free hot chocolate. The white rice had just been cooked, which I loved, though the people with me didn’t care for it that way. Just a matter of taste.
