In Fashion Hotel and Spa

I've stayed here in 2021 and 2023, and I'm coming back this year. The location is perfect, the staff have always been friendly, and I've enjoyed both the downstairs and upstairs pools. There is some wear and tear, but nothing that would be a dealbreaker for me or my friends. Could it be better? Sure, but for the price I can't complain. I think it's excellent value.

I stayed in 2017. The property was nice, with a big room and a good pool, but my vacation was badly affected when 10k pesos was stolen while I was having breakfast. Since there aren't cameras inside the rooms, it couldn't be proven. Management offered me an excursion and helped me get a better than usual currency exchange deal, but that didn't make me feel safe. It's a shame to have that happen at such a nice property.

The room was just okay, and especially the bathroom looked like it hadn't been kept up or renovated in a long time. We also saw a roach and another bug climbing the wall. The front of the hotel wasn't welcoming, and I didn't feel comfortable there the way I have at other hotels. On the way to the elevator, I heard a front desk employee comment about my mom and me. It felt unprofessional, and I assumed they thought we didn't know any Spanish. I wouldn't call this a four star hotel, more like three. The furniture and rooms seemed overdue for maintenance. I Fashion by Kavia looked beautiful in the online pictures, but I had skipped over reviews that described what I later saw. Our stay was okay, but I wouldn't recommend it since I've found more reasonable, better hotels in Playa before. A full renovation could help bring out the vision I can see they're going for.

We booked the family room with three beds. It had a nice main street view, but there was a club right below the hotel blasting music until 4 AM. The pool floor was slippery, too. The photos and description gave me a different impression. The room wasn't clean, with stains, bed bugs, roaches, and mold all over the bathroom. Furniture seems like it hasn't been updated in a while. Even the towels and sheets had stains, so it was hard to tell whether they were clean.
