The location is what will probably bring me back, even though the hotel has seemed to get worse on each of my at least four stays over the years. I paid around 65 a night for a room with two beds. Breakfast is included, and the buffet food is pretty good and worth having. On this visit the heat was unusually intense, and the rooms felt just as hot despite the air-conditioning. You have to leave a card key or something similar in the slot to keep the air on, so I’d ask for two keys or use something else in the holder.

I’ve stayed here at least five times and have brought my wife to Poza Rica twice. The hotel isn’t new, but I like it a lot, and the staff are very attentive. There’s a rooftop restaurant, a regular restaurant, and a pastry shop, with several other good places within walking distance. Tuxpan is about 45 minutes away, with a fun beach and good seafood. The shrimp cocktails are fantastic!

For business travel, this is probably Poza Rica’s best hotel. The staff are extremely helpful, the rooms are quiet and spacious, and the free Wi-Fi is decent. It’s also well located and has a good restaurant.

The gym, if you can even call it that, doesn’t work at all, and there’s no hot water. You have to activate your key every day, and sometimes they can’t get it working. On my last stay I had to wait 30 minutes, which could be a real problem in an emergency. Worst hotel ever.
