Hotel Posada Jesus de Nazaret

The staff were attentive and very friendly, and we had a pleasant night. The hotel is comfortable and has the things you need, though it’s simple and showing its age, with outdated appliances. It could use better ventilation, and updating the bathroom structure would help too, as other reviews have said. We appreciated our stay 😃

The room had a strong damp and sewage smell, the internet was extremely unreliable, and there were hardly any outlets for charging devices. The bathroom wasn’t fully enclosed, so there was no real privacy, and I saw a couple of cockroaches in the room. On the positive side, the staff were attentive, friendly, and trustworthy. I left valuables in my room a couple of times, and they were exactly where I’d left them. The location is very good too, one block from San José Hospital and about a 10-minute walk from the city center.

The service was very poor, and I was uneasy because the cleaning lady checked my things. I’m very methodical about how I leave them. The bathroom had no ceiling and was open to the bedroom. We paid 300 pesos per night for a room without a TV, even though there was a sign when we arrived advertising 250 pesos per night with a TV. Cleaning left a lot to be desired. They seemed to just wipe the floor with bleach, and it was clear it hadn’t been scrubbed in a long time. They provided only one shampoo packet and a pink Venus soap. The blankets also clearly smelled of the cheapest soap they could find.

The food was decent for the price, and I hadn’t expected much. The woman who took my order was really nice 😀, though another woman had a really bad attitude 😑.
