Hotel Santo Domingo

I had a positive stay, and think this hotel deserves at least a 3 star rating. The staff were very helpful, though they only spoke Spanish. The woman at the desk offered to do my laundry for 100 pesos, there was potable water in the kitchen, and I could park my motorcycle safely in the courtyard. There aren’t any dorms anymore. I paid 600 pesos for a room with two queens, which felt a little steep for just me. There’s no AC, but the WiFi was adequate and the showers were warm. I walked past the entrance twice before spotting it, since it’s easy to miss from the street.

It was my first time staying in a hostel, and I had a good experience. The rooms are spacious and clean, with a large locker for your things and free locks. There’s also a big kitchen and drinking water available around the clock. The staff were friendly and there whenever I needed them. I’d definitely recommend the place.

The room was big, about 30 square meters, with a private bathroom, and the place felt safe. The price was fair and the central location was perfect. Noise from the road was the downside. My room didn’t even have glass windows, just wooden shutters with holes, and I could hear everything through the connecting door to the neighboring room.

I’ve been staying here for the last few weeks after my motorcycle broke down in Puebla, and I’ve really enjoyed my time. It’s a great location and 180 pesos a night is a fantastic price. They can safely fit two or three motorcycles in the secured courtyard. The staff are friendly, the beds are comfortable, and the showers are hot. Breakfast was delicious, with juice, coffee, and eggs.
