MM Grand Hotel Puebla, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

We paid 94 USD, or 1600 MXN. The hotel was very relaxing, and our room had two queen beds, a sofa, a work desk with chairs, and a coffee pod station. There was also a large LG bathtub and shower, twin vanity sinks, art and display vases, comfortable beds, and a large TV.

My parents were celebrating their 30th anniversary nearby, and we had several reservations under my father's name. It was cold when we came back to the hotel around midnight. There had been an administrative mix-up with my grandparents' room: someone we knew had taken it under my father's name without authorization. Neither the receptionist nor the manager could fix it or offer us another option. The manager's attitude made things worse. We spent three hours trying to prove the room was ours, which was exhausting for my elderly grandparents. The service needs to improve.

The setting is beautiful, and the rooms are very nice, though a fridge would have been useful. The restaurant food was mostly good, but some vegetables were much too salty. The hotel-recommended taxi company charged more than the price the hotel had agreed with me. The toilets and bathtubs were poorly maintained, and the maintenance staff seemed unable or unwilling to fix anything.

I chose this hotel for my 60th birthday event. I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels, but this one stood out for its concept, beautiful building, and elegant, comfortable rooms. The restaurant food was delicious, and the staff were warm and welcoming. Special thanks to marcelino, the restaurant server, Zeferino, the captain, Miguel Angel, Nain, and the event coordinators, as well as Javier from valet parking.
