Suites La Concordia

We booked for 14 days but were made to leave the suite after four. The owner is rude, obnoxious, and unreasonable. The receptionist called 911 and lied to police about an alleged incident. Police reviewed the video and said there had been no altercation, but we were still evicted late at night onto the street. We got no refund for the remaining money and had to walk around looking for another hotel. Definitely not recommended.

I stayed here for two weeks, November 13-28 2021, while attending a nearby Spanish immersion school. The historic centro of Puebla is right around here, and the Zocalo is about a seven-minute walk away. My room was clean and efficient, with a kitchenette, and the cleaning service was very thorough. There’s a rooftop patio if you want to sit outdoors above the street noise. Downtown Puebla can be noisy at night, so light sleepers should bring earplugs. The internet also really needs an upgrade, since it slows to a crawl in the mornings and evenings. This review is from Nov 2021, though I uploaded the photos in 2022.

The location makes it easy to walk to the zocalo and lots of places to eat, with other destinations a short taxi or Uber ride away. The airport is about 30-40 minutes away and isn’t too expensive by Uber. There’s an OXXO downstairs on the corner. It’s a small, almost boutique-style place in the downtown area, with just 10 rooms and a front desk person on duty around the clock to watch the entrance. My street-facing room got noisy from traffic at times. My main complaint was no hot water, though I just dealt with it and didn’t mention it. The place is clean, friendly, safe, modern, and comfortable, and a nice budget option. In the small room there’s a big bed that’s hard to maneuver around, plus a kitchen with a stove, utensils, pots, fridge, and microwave, a little bar seating area, and a bathroom. Toiletries and a variety of things to use are provided.

LIARS AND CHEATERS!!! We checked in but couldn’t stay because the road and buses were extremely loud. They told us we could check out and get our money back on our card, but that was a lie. They never refunded it. Just avoid this hole! In reply to the hotel’s feedback: Why did you say you’d return our money and give us a fake refund check? Total SCAM.
