The place was adequate, clean and well run, with a nice pool and waterfalls. Maid service was excellent. The rooms were a bit dark, though, and sound carries easily: you can hear a neighbor showering, people talking outside your door, or kids in the pool. Bring earplugs.

We booked two bedrooms and were given just one. The room smelled bad and was dirty, the beds were awful, and the Wi-Fi was nearly useless. Nobody spoke English, and music from the clubs made it hard to sleep. We only got cold showers. I know it’s a two-star place, but that’s still unacceptable.

The location is good, and the old pool is decent, but the price was higher than nicer places nearby. Showers and bathrooms were dirty, with mold, dirt and sand, and the plumbing was terrible, with clogged toilets and showers. I won’t come back. Check online for better options before booking. I wish we had.

We stayed two nights. It was convenient and really inexpensive, but it felt like management was trying to get us to leave so they could free up the room and make more money over spring break. The bars also made it loud at night.

The staff were so sweet and welcoming after I hadn’t been to Zicatela for years. They were kind and helpful with everything. The cabins are spacious and clean, with their own bathroom and shower, plus great hammocks for relaxing. The location is ideal, right across from the beach and beside an Oxxo convenience store. The pool is a lovely place to hang out, and it’s rare to find all that in one place at such an affordable price. Acuario also serves a delicious Mexican breakfast. I’ll stay again for sure. See you soon, many thanks! ☺️
