I didn’t stay at Casa Toro, but I want to give a shout-out to the AMAZING staff. They were so welcoming and friendly, with 5-star service. The mezcalitas were the best I’ve tried in La Punta! 🤍 I’ll definitely consider staying here next time.

I had a great two-night stay while travelling through Mexico. The owners and team were super friendly, and proactive about arranging activities and sharing recommendations. After rooftop yoga, the sauna and ice bath were a lovely way to connect with other people, and I also liked the coworking space. La Punta has a great vibe, but bring ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper. There was construction nearby, dogs barking, and even a local rooster. The rooster is lovely and obviously can’t be helped, but it’s good to know.

This hostel is brand new, modern, clean, and beautiful, with a great pool and cocktails. The staff were GREAT, and I really appreciated being served a drink while I was in the pool. I stayed in a 6-bed female dorm that happened to be empty except for me, which was a lucky bonus. I’d stay again and recommend it. Some things could be better. The sliding door on my dorm didn’t lock, and I was nervous sleeping there alone at night, especially with builders working on the roof who could have accessed the room that way. I told the staff, but nothing was done. The pole holding my bunk curtain was also broken and kept falling down. I loved the cocktails and thought the food was great, but the bar closed early at 8pm. After getting back late from a bioluminescent tour, I was tired and would’ve liked to eat there instead of going into town to find food. A tab system would also have been easier than paying for each order right away and would let guests settle everything with their room bill at checkout. I liked the eco-friendly touches, like recycled toilet paper, but there were no paper towels or hand towels in the rooms or common bathrooms. The bag lockers were full when I arrived, so there was nowhere secure to leave my things before check-in or after check-out. I left them out in the common area while construction was happening. Nothing was taken, but I’d have felt better with a locked room or locker. The hostel also didn’t seem to have much of a social vibe, and I couldn’t find activities or excursions posted anywhere. I would’ve liked a list of excursions I could join.

That first-floor workspace was comfortable, and the facilities generally worked well: strong A/C and dependable hot water. The fitness classes were a real highlight, and the staff were great throughout, always friendly, attentive, and helpful. My main frustrations were the internet being unavailable in the women’s 6-bed dorm and the ice bath being out of service or unavailable during my stay. Construction started early, and dust got into shared spaces. It covered my computer and even got into my food while I was working downstairs. Better containment, like sealing the work area with plastic barriers, would help a lot. Still, the stay had a great vibe overall.

I felt safe traveling solo both at the property and around town, and everyone on the Casa Toro team made me feel welcome. The place was spotless, and it has a great mix of amenities: a pool, bar, coworking space, breakfast, sauna, ice bath, and workout classes. Such a lovely stay. I’ll absolutely be back! 🤍✨🙏🏼
