Hotel Kootznoowoo

It's a quiet, comfortable hotel with very friendly staff. The shower didn't have hot water, and using the AC costs an extra MX$400. All the rooms have AC, but you can't use it without paying, so it's not a room configuration issue.

It's a nice place to relax by the pool, with spacious bedrooms and fair prices. The staff are all kind, especially the owner. The quiet location is far enough from the bars that their music doesn't bother you, but you can still walk to them. My only suggestion for improvement is that they don't sell any food.

The location and pool are lovely, but that's where the good points end for me. The hotel was a nightmare, run by two ungrateful, unhappy, confrontational people. At 12:30am I went to complain about a party above my room. They said I could get a refund if I left immediately, but wouldn't even go ask the guests upstairs to be considerate of everyone else. The next day, all the guests were locked inside because the front gates had been locked. No one came to open them until 8:30am, when someone was woken up to let out the guests who wanted to get on with their day. I had things to do, so after several unanswered messages and calls, I climbed the fence. When the manager finally unlocked the gate and realized I'd jumped it, he angrily confronted me, said he'd report me to booking, and told my girlfriend and me we weren't nice people. He never apologized for locking multiple guests in. Guests are allowed for a maximum of two hours, but they can't use the pool, sun chairs, bathrooms, or even the towel provided with your room. If you like being told you're wrong and disrespected by people with zero customer service, this is the hotel for you.

Luis was a warm, kind, and careful host, and I had an awesome stay. The building stays cool enough that I didn't need to use air conditioning, which makes it more climate friendly. I wish I could have stayed longer. Highly recommend it. Thank you, Luis!
