Breakfast was a nice change from the usual, and Paul makes the best mushroom omelet in Mexico. We also had a great room in a peaceful, beautiful house with a garden and pool.

You’ll be sharing the home with a family, though they’re very friendly, and the room is private. Getting into town takes a short taxi ride, or about a 15-minute walk to the restaurants around Benito Juarez. The house is beautifully designed, and they’ll collect you from the airport and gladly answer questions. Breakfast was really nice too. One thing that kept this from five stars for me was having to pay cash on arrival, since the hosts don’t take cards.

We’d happily return. Paul and his family made us feel welcome, the rooms and house are beautifully designed, and the pool is great. It was a wonderful stay and a perfect getaway.

The grounds are quiet, lush, and feel like a little private oasis, with a saltwater pool and just steps to the beach. Everything is gorgeous, and the hosts are lovely and supportive. The property is completely sustainable, and all the meals they served us were fresh and organic. We’ll definitely come back for another rejuvenating break.
