Villas Carrizalillo

The loungers and hammocks overlooking carrizalillo beach were the best spot, and the grounds are beautiful. Our rooms had full kitchens and spacious private outdoor areas. Cristina and Armando gave great service. We didn’t use the pool because it was in an awkward spot that felt like something you just walk past. Playa Carrizalillo was extremely crowded between Xmas and NYE, so I’d suggest going before 11am. It was handy to have Espadín restaurant on site, with delivery to the villa or anywhere on the property, and it’s a short walk to cafes and other restaurants on Benito Juárez. One room had a septic smell in the bathroom. Besides that, everything was great.

Everyone was so kind and helpful, from room service and the waiters to hotel management. The hotel looks out over lovely Carrizalillo beach in a breathtaking setting, and the restaurant, 'Espadin', is excellent. We loved every moment.

Espadin was excellent both times we ate there, for sunset dinner and breakfast, and the Riconada area with shops and great restaurants is only a 5-10 minute walk away. The hotel also arranged excursions for us and is just a quick five-minute taxi ride from the ADO bus station, which was handy since we arrived by bus. The grounds are beautiful, clean, and well maintained, with tropical plants and hammocks at every villa. Views of Carrizalillo Beach are stunning, and the private access makes it easy to walk down the stairs in the morning before crowds arrive. We stayed three days and two nights and couldn’t imagine a better time in Puerto Escondido. We chose Venecia Villa for our family. It was beautiful and worked for us, though being at the entrance made it a little loud because of morning deliveries, and it didn’t have the ocean views some other villas had. The hotel cat liked hanging around our villa, which was a bonus. We had a fantastic stay, and I think I’d be disappointed if I returned to PE and stayed elsewhere.

The shady pool was a lovely place to cool down in the afternoon heat, and the villas had air conditioning. We enjoyed the accommodations and all the different spots to sit and take in the views. It was a lovely reprieve, and we highly recommend staying here.
