My wife and I are five days into a ten-day stay, and we’re worried about the next five. The hotel itself suits us: it’s low key, friendly, with amazing staff, a spacious room, great pools, and good beach access. The problem is the food service. We’ve tried four ala carte restaurants and the buffet for breakfast and lunch, and every meal has disappointed. It’s been almost impossible to get hot food. I waited for fresh food from the kitchen at the buffet, but it was tepid at best. The ala carte restaurants bring out a hot plate with lukewarm food on it. There’s also the issue of dishes not matching the menu. A beet, olive and arugula salad should have arugula and olives, not beets and cheese. Fritto misto with shrimp, fish and baby squid should include all three. The ingredients need to be consistent with what the menu says. If something has changed or isn’t available, tell me when I order so I can adjust or confirm. As Ms. Geyer says in her responses to reviews, "food and beverage...is an essential part of an all inclusive stay". I feel the same, but our experience so far hasn’t reflected that. Guests at an all-inclusive hotel shouldn’t have to think about eating elsewhere. There are five days left for them to change my mind, or confirm that I should look at other hotels next time. That would be a shame because we both like this hotel a lot. UPDATE We took up the chance to talk with the service manager, Bertha, and had a pleasant conversation. Thanks for listening and treating us with respect. She said she’d speak with the executive chef to try to fix these problems going forward. The food wasn’t awful. Actually, it was delicious, well seasoned, and beautifully presented. I know change takes time, but we ran into the same issues for the rest of our stay. It’s a tough decision not to return when we liked everything else so much. Muchos gracias to all the wonderful staff.
Those three pools were spotless, and each seemed a little warmer than the last. The sandy beach was just as enjoyable, with no water shoes needed. We had an ocean-facing room and loved having coffee outside in the morning while the pool music played. It was pleasant and never intrusive. We spent 12 days at Fiesta Americana Riviera Nayarit and had a wonderful vacation. The staff looked after us impeccably, and the food was probably the best we've had at resorts in Mexico or the Caribbean. The buffet wasn't huge, but it was fresh and good quality. The sushi restaurant was fantastic, especially the lettuce wraps, and we also really liked the steakhouse and Italian restaurant. We felt very safe and well cared for. The dramatic media coverage about “Cartel discontentment” in PV was unfortunate for this resort and others there. If you want a relaxing break with good food and amenities, I'd highly recommend The Fiesta Americana Riviera Nayarit.
The grounds were immaculate, and we enjoyed spotting iguanas sunning themselves during the day. Our spacious room had a partial ocean view, which was a nice extra. We also found the pools and beach lovely, with soft sand, gentle waves, and a peaceful feel. We came for a quiet babymoon and that's exactly what we got. The staff were consistently warm, helpful, and professional. Since I'm pregnant and allergic to peanuts, I especially appreciated that the buffet and restaurants checked about allergies before seating us. It felt thoughtful and reassuring. The location worked well too, close to the airport and handy for outings to the Malecón or Sayulita. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend it.
The beach is great for long walks, and we made good use of the pools. Food was mostly what you'd expect from an all-inclusive, and generally good. There are some activities, but this isn't the resort for you if you want something happening constantly. The rooms are a bit dated, though it looks like renovations may be starting. We stayed for two weeks and had a wonderful time. The staff were outstanding. Agustin, Rosario Lugo, Froylan, Mario, Leo, and Magah Perez were especially great: always smiling, going out of their way to help, and doing what they could to make the vacation a good one. Well done, team. We'll be back! ❤️
The beach was a favorite, with fine sand and gentle surf that was fun on a boogie board. We had a cold shower issue, but it was fixed in ten minutes, which we appreciated since my wife is pregnant. Rooms are roomy, with a comfortable sofa, large balcony, and wide patio door. The gym was fine for me, with a barbell, benches, Hoist machines, and a Smith machine. I was told new equipment would arrive next week. This is a low-key, good-value resort. Staff were attentive without hovering or constantly fishing for tips. Ezekiel and Allan from the activities team were great, and I played ping pong and volleyball with them every day. The 11 a.m. volleyball game was a highlight, with enough people to make it fun. There are heated and regular pools, plenty of loungers, and we never had to worry about finding a chair. The condo building has quite a few seniors, which adds to the relaxed mood. Food and restaurant choices were consistently good. The evening karaoke, dancing, and fire show were enjoyable but simple and relaxed. There's definitely no club or party scene. The place could use a pool table, but it was clean, well maintained, and clearly cared for. We were very satisfied. It was just the relaxing baby-moon we wanted before our little one arrives.
