I went to the beer garden for dinner and had excellent pizza. It’s a cool spot, with nice shops, and I’d love to come back for a show. I only stayed one night before an early flight, so I’d also like another evening here and time to see the city. The hotel is pricey for its location and the city, but I’d come back with a friend because the room was so beautiful and comfortable. The spa is a really unique area, with Roman bath pools, but the sauna and steam room weren’t working. Nobody was around to explain or fix it, and I’d paid extra for access, so they shouldn’t charge when parts of it are out of order. The room itself was lovely, with high-quality linens and towels, nice tile, a huge window, a comfortable bed, and pretty floors that felt soft underfoot. I loved the restoration and found the property interesting. It was very quiet during my stay, almost like a horror film at times, which was kind of interesting too. Even though the property seemed mostly empty, they first put me in a lower-grade room than the one I’d booked, and I had to remind them. Be careful about that. The staff didn’t seem very tuned in to hospitality or service. It felt odd that they’d give guests the lowest-grade rooms when the place looked vacant. They could’ve upgraded people, and it was a missed opportunity. Other guests have mentioned that service disconnect too.

Being at the same hotel as the Osees ended up overshadowing the problems, and I had a great experience with the staff once I arrived. The brewery and restaurants are amazing, and the outdoor performance space is awesome, fully walled in with excellent sound. I was disappointed by the room, though. The suites vary a lot in size, and I heard from other concertgoers staying there that they all pay the same rate despite those significant differences. Before arrival, the reservation staff were inconsistent about communication, room details, and confirming the rate. ❤️🔥❤️🔥🤘

We’ll be back for sure. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the staff turned out to be amazingly helpful and accommodating, and the room was cute and comfortable. The neighborhood is artistic and fun to wander around. Everything we ate was exceptional, including the house-made sausage at breakfast in the Taverna. The Hercules beers are great too, especially the Super Lupe IPA if that’s your kind of thing.

There’s great street art nearby, but I won’t be back. I left the spa session disappointed because toilets were full of mosquitoes and half the amenities were closed. The steam room had been broken for three months, and the sauna had just stopped working too. The Hamman session left my back hurting more after an hour lying on stone. The massage included an abdominal part I hadn’t experienced before, which was nice, but the therapists dug in hard with their elbows, pressing muscle against bone. I said it hurt and they kept going until I yelled for them to stop. The peeling blue paint all over the walls probably contains a lot of lead. To me, the factory feel doesn’t work for a safe, relaxing spa. There was AC only in the massage area, and the other parts were hot and uncomfortable. Open the men’s or women’s waste closet and you’ll see a swarm of mosquitoes you can’t avoid. When I told the staff I was disappointed that services and half the advertised amenities weren’t available, they said to come back next week and maybe it would be fixed.

The manager listened to our concerns and tried to make things right, which we appreciated. Still, at the price in Queretero, we expected much more. We’d had high hopes, and the design and space really are beautiful, but the hotel didn’t live up to what it advertises. Communication was unclear, staff and management didn’t seem on the same page, and the hallways and surroundings were noisy.
