There are at least 50 better places to stay in Guayabitos. I found this location quite bad, and I’d look nearer the beach and farther from the highway and main drag. The church, street, highway, and demolition noise made my stay very uncomfortable. For two weeks, demolition crews started at 7 am every morning, and expect that to continue well into 2025. The courtyard echoes badly, so good luck getting a full night’s sleep. Large groups arrived from 6 am until midnight, and kids ran up the stairs until midnight with no staff intervention. Security was nonexistent, and staff were never around. The rooms were fairly clean, but the public baños were continually soaked in urine. Honestly, there wasn’t much difference between sleeping here and on the street.

We went as a group of more than 20, family and friends, and everything worked out great. We ate at other restaurants, and having a small kitchen in the room was really useful. It had a little fridge, stove, and kitchen table, along with a sofa and AC. There’s a speaker and tables by the pool where you can get together and play your own music. The beach is a 2-3min walk away. If you want something comfortable and nice but not fancy, I recommend staying here. For a view, ask for a third-floor room at the end facing the street.

After we complained for about an hour, they at least refunded us. We had arrived with a reservation but waited two hours to get into our rooms, only to be told then that we’d have to wait another eight hours. There was nowhere safe to leave our luggage, and the service was slow and rude. Had I known we’d be treated this way, I never would have booked here.

The pool was nice, and the staff were very friendly. The place was very clean and fairly priced. Large families on vacation can make it noisy. They offer free coffee in the mornings, but it wasn’t very good.

The workers were nice, and the rooms were spacious and clean. The hotel itself is decent, but it’s ridiculously overcrowded. The pool is packed with people from opening until closing, so if you want to swim, find somewhere else. It’s far too full for me, and I’d personally stay elsewhere.
