I wound up at this hotel one weekend after agreeing to meet a young man from South Africa who had found me on Facebook. The whole atmosphere felt strange to me. The border wall was very high, and plastic owls watched from the tops of lots of buildings in Rosarita. I saw men walking around with concealed weapons and children riding in a parade on the backs of pickup trucks. Tiguana felt ominous, and most businesses were closed. The chocolate was excellent, though. It was too close to El gavacho. I got to the airport seven hours early for my flight back to DF and saw languages there I’d never even seen at Benito Juarez. I picked up two Time magazines, bordo de sangre and water wars. Mexico was quite an education. 😂

The staff were welcoming and seemed to work hard at keeping the place clean. The shallow pool is kid friendly, and having private parking was a plus. There’s food in every direction, and the beach is about a five-minute walk. There was hot water in the shower, but no AC or heating system. The beds were very hard, and the pillows felt old, with the cotton all lumpy.

I liked how clean the place was, and the Wi-Fi connection was good. I felt comfortable there, though the beds and pillows could be improved. The kitchen and refrigerator are shared, and the kitchen is quite old and could use an update.

It was very quiet, and there’s a bar by the pool if you want a drink. There aren’t any vending machines.

My family and I have been coming here for years. It’s a good place to relax after partying, and the location feels safe. The staff make us feel welcome, and the pictures are accurate.
