I spent a week there in 1998 and had a wonderful time. The staff were so friendly, and I hated leaving. They took us for a hike behind the hotel, where we saw the ruins of a house built in the 1800s and a hole drilled into a rock by Indians to send smoke signals.

The setting feels wonderfully old-world, with spectacular views that suit Saltillo's unique character. From the hotel, a short hike opens onto a green valley and breathtaking city views. It's an oasis in town, full of hummingbirds, bees, and cactus. The food is top tier, and they make their own pear-flavored tequila. Service is top notch too.

After a long drive, I searched online at the last minute and found the most relaxing place. It feels more like a resort than a hotel, with spacious grounds and outdoor areas right in the city. This historic ranch was here before Saltillo grew around it. The rooms are charming, and the whole place has a calm feel. We loved it, and it was so much better than a chain hotel. I can’t recommend it enough.

We had a great Christmas party here. Everyone was kind, and even though it was cold that day, a natural fire kept the place warm the whole time.
