Casa Playa Encantada

We went to a wedding at Playa Encantada and had a really pleasant time. The sea and natural surroundings were lovely, and the place itself felt peaceful, clean, and well looked after.

Everything in the house works, and it's super cute. The staff really add to the experience, and the owner is always kind and attentive. You can just relax and enjoy yourself without worrying about anything. The cook is delicious.

We paid a fortune for ten days, yet the owner kept our $8,000 peso deposit over excuses that made no sense: stained sheets that were already stained, chairs that had already been repaired, one broken plate, and a missing lid for the water pitcher. I would not rent this house. The owner is arrogant, rude, and impossible to deal with. The staff seem terrified of her because she charges them for everything, so they report every little thing to avoid being yelled at. Several things in the house were broken or didn't work. The shower water never got hot, some air conditioners didn't work in unbearable heat, and the microwave was broken. The owner said she didn't know about these problems and wouldn't take responsibility. The cook cost an extra $1,500 and had a bad attitude, doing the bare minimum without good service. The cleaning person was only hired for three hours a day, which wasn't enough for so many rooms. The house is beautiful, the pools are incredible, and the beach location is great. It could have been nearly perfect, and we would have loved to return many times, but after this treatment we'll have to find somewhere else. The one bright spot was Alejandro, the maintenance man, who gave excellent service and attention. It's a shame the owner treats them so badly.

We paid over $200,000 pesos to rent the house for ten days, and the owner is trying to keep $8,000 of the deposit. If you rent here, be prepared to lose your entire security deposit. We returned the property in the same condition we received it, and a small paint mark on some plastic tables from the children doing a creative activity doesn't justify keeping the money. Those tables cost $200 pesos in any store. The owner withheld the deposit over flimsy excuses, including a missing plastic jar lid and a pair of kitchen tongs. We were also called "miserable" for not leaving an extra tip, even though we generously paid the cleaning staff over $1,000 pesos per person per day. The way the owner treated us was deplorable. There were problems in the house too: no hot water, a broken microwave, and mold in some rooms. Hot water isn't essential in Acapulco's warm climate, but given the rental price, you'd expect the owner to cover ordinary wear and tear. Instead, trying to hold on to the deposit feels like a "miserable" attitude.
