We’re hooked! The rooftop bar has a stunning city view and looks right at home beside the fanciest places in Monaco or a top end luxury beach hotel in EUROPE. The cocktails are amazing and reasonably priced, and Ale was lovely, attentive, and friendly all evening. There’s art in the gallery, seating both inside and out, and huge floor to ceiling glass windows. Impeccable service.

Breakfast was the one decent part, though it wasn’t anything special, and Tammy (the manager) did try to help. Still, this was one of the worst “hotels” we’ve stayed in, and we wouldn’t return or recommend it. We spent three nights there and paid a lot for what we got. The rooms were tiny and minimalist. On day two there was no water, so we had to wait until 23:00 to shower. We couldn’t even use the toilet or wash our hands. We understand this problem affects the small village, but it’s a shame the hotel didn’t take care of guests like other hotels do, since pipes can provide water. To me, that was irresponsible. They also didn’t clean the room on either the second or third day. We had to ask each time, which was really annoying because cleaning is their responsibility. We also had to request clean sheets and a new blanket because ours were dirty. It’s a pity the owner hasn’t done more to improve the service. The place feels more like a hostel.

The breakfast was pretty good, and the restaurant has a nice terrace. They also kept my bag after checkout, which was helpful. The location is great, and the room had nice furniture, though it could’ve been cleaner. The water was tepid at best, not great in a chilly climate, and there was no WiFi in the room. When I arrived around 9pm, reception was very disorganized and left me waiting for a while. To be fair, I think the receptionist may have already gone home. It’s okay in a pinch.

There’s a dance school above the rooms, so keep in mind people will be dancing overhead every weekday night, Monday to Friday. The rooms and bathroom are nice, the terrace is idyllic, and the location is excellent, right on San Cristobal’s most touristic street.

The rooms are tucked behind the busy center, so we didn’t hear the city at all, and the beds were really comfortable. Upstairs, the restaurant and yoga room sit behind small glass windows all around, with a great view over the rooftops. La Tozi is run by a very friendly Spanish girl. A great place to stay in San Cristobal.
